Calling the API without an SDK

Every code sample on these pages comes in three versions: cURL, TypeScript with the built-in fetch (Node 18 or later) and Python with requests. Pick one in the language menu above the code.

• Send Authorization: Bearer $KALLE_API_KEY and, to pin the behaviour, Kalle-Version.
• Retry 429, 500 and 529 with exponential backoff, starting at one second, and wait for retry-after on a 429.
• Send an Idempotency-Key header on POST requests you retry, so a retry never runs twice.
• Streams are server-sent events with one JSON object per data: line. See Streaming.
